This post is about a topic that changed my life. It’s an important topic to me and is what I value most. It’s been a decade since I was introduced to the platform, and I’m stoked and astounded that I’m still using it every day, even on rest days, for 10 freaking years!
It’s been the subscription I can’t live without, even when I was so broke that I couldn’t buy stamps to mail my thank-you notes. This was more important to me. It has been the one thing I have consistently shown up to for the last decade.

Beachbody
Yep. Do you remember those infomercials selling P90X DVDs? I did indeed have those DVD’s at some point. But more importantly, Beachbody, now BODi, has evolved and come a long way with its technology and programs, so there’s no excuse not to try it. There is a program and a coach personality for just about anyone. And you don’t need to dig out the DVD player.
From Country Line dancing to Hip Hop, Piyo, Yoga, weightlifting, Yoga AND weights, agility, MMA, Boxing, and whatever floats your boat. Each program has nutritional plans, goal weight calculators, recipes, and workout calendars. They will get you pumped.
Since there are so many options, it can be overwhelming. This is my journey and the 3 best Beachbody workouts to get you started.
Short, fun, and to the point, 21-Day Fix
Meet Autumn Calabrese, a feisty Italian who won’t let you quit. Autumn and her crew will keep you occupied with conversations; you’ll be stretching in the cooldown before you know it. These workouts are quick, 30 min, and minimal equipment is needed. AND it’s only 21 days. It’s a quick win and a great way to start feeling good and building better habits.
For even better results, repeat this program. This is the program that changed my life forever. I lost 15 lbs in 3 months. I repeated this program 3 times.
Follow the same crew and continue to the live versions. You can keep progressing to 21-Day Extreme. My favorite workout is the Dirty 30. I’ll go back and do this one when I need a quick change-up.
You’ll become Obsessed, 80 Day Obsession
You’re now in love with Autumn. Your nutrition is dialed in, using your contains and meal prepping for the week. You’re on fire and ready to commit. For the next 80 days, your abs, booty, and entire body will burn. This program fine-tuned my nutrition and toned my muscles. For the first time in my life, I had obliques.
I lost a total of 7.5 inches and 7 lbs and gained a whole new level of confidence. This program changed the way I prioritized my life and daily choices. Showing up every day for 80 days taught me discipline and self-integrity. I realized I wasn’t just there to finish and get the free tank top. I became consistent; I showed up because I loved how it made me feel, and I became a sucker for that endorphin high. I’m still Obsessed, 9 years later. The tank top, I wore out.
For Strength, Cardio, and Core, try LIIFT4
Ladies, now let me introduce you to Joel Freeman. For only 4 days a week, that’s right, 4 days, Joel’s LIIFT4 program will have you toned and feeling strong fast. He combines weightlifting with intense cardio. Yep, strength, cardio, and core only 30-40 minutes a day. You get 3 rest days with this program, but you’re gonna need them.
There’s no excuse for us ladies not to be lifting. Don’t be scared; get a couple of sets of light to medium dumbbells and commit. We are strong.
If you have a death wish, try The Prep
The Prep is more advanced, yet preparation for what’s to come that will significantly advance your fitness with each program that follows. Coach Amoila is here to push your limits if you’re a committed long-term goal seeker. You will sweat and nearly die for 30-40 minutes a day, but it’s only for 4 weeks, then you move on to The Work… DUN Dun dun
Strength, cardio, agility, and most importantly, mobility. Don’t skip the mobility! If there’s only one workout you do, do the mobility. I refer to the mobility workouts as they align with my chiropractor’s suggestion to maintain mobility and movement as we age.
One day at a time
Yes, it will be challenging, but you can do hard things, one day at a time. Trust the process.
I should also mention the elephant in the room, Shakology, and that I don’t care.
I’m a Beachbody fan for the convenience of the workouts. I can and do take them anywhere and everywhere. From the desert to the Alaskan Bush to Europe and the Mediterranean. I never have to miss a day.
Honestly, I buy Shako on eBay once in a while. I was once a coach back in the beginning but never gave it my commitment.
